Description
Located in Bissone, in the canton of Ticino, this villa enjoys an exceptional 180-degree view of Lake Lugano. The project had to overcome several challenges, such as the steep slope of the land, the difficult geological conditions and the respect of the view rights of the neighboring properties.
The house rests on a massive retaining wall at the back and unfolds like a slender wing, suspended from this supporting structure, which blends discreetly into the landscape. From the communal road, only an access staircase, designed to enhance the panoramic perspective, betrays the presence of this building. The wide roof overhangs extend horizontally the interior spaces and terraces towards the surrounding landscape. The result evokes a pink concrete delta wing, light and openwork, anchored to the hill.
